We all know about garlic breath, don’t we?

We also know that garlic is good for you. It’s good for heart health, high blood pressure, immune system and the list goes on.

But garlic attracting the opposite sex?

Yes! It’s proven.

A study was done where men were divided into 2 groups. One was given garlic and the other no garlic. The men were asked to wear underarm pads for 12 hours to collect body odour! One week later the conditions were reversed i.e. the no-garlic men had the garlic and vice versa.

The underarm pads were then judged by odour by an equal group of women for pleasantness, attractiveness, masculinity and intensity. Brave women indeed!

The garlic consuming group were assessed to be significantly more pleasant and attractive compared to the non-garlic group.

It is thought that the positive effects may have been due to the antioxidant and antimicrobial activity of garlic.

So, men, garlic before a night out?
